Oro Jaska
The Northern Sami TV-series “Oro Jaska” premiered at NRK (Norway) this month.
Ánna Mággá Wigelius is one of the two directors of this production, and she also appears as one of the characters in the series.
This is a series for young adults and it is exploring abuse, identity and social roles in Karasjok. The two main characters are carrying a secret which they are both desperate to keep quiet about. The struggle between keeping it a secret and the importance of it coming out, is real.

The 8th Annual Lee Strasberg Film Festival was hosted in Los Angeles this month, and we congratulate Dennis Storhøi for winning the price for Best Supporting Actor, for the short film “Nøkkelbarn”!
Kronprinsen och tyrannens återkomst
The award-winning Christmas TV series is being adapted into a feature film, set to premiere on February 7th. Written and directed by Tord Danielsson, the film features both familiar and new faces, including Oscar Skagerberg as Captain Svartenskiöld. Watch the trailer here!
At Arm’s Length
At Arm’s Length is a satirical series about cultural politics in a mockumentary style, premiering on SVT in 2025. Directed by Jimmy Olsson, with Theodor Östberg as head writer.
“We had a feeling that something troublesome and unsettling is happening within cultural politics, and we wanted to address that,” Olsson explains. The series is structured as a mockumentary, where the investigative journalist “Jimmy Olsson” – known from Olsson’s previous fake documentary Fictitious Review (2022) – decides to uncover the true state of culture in Sweden”
In his quest for the truth, he encounters a reality where esteemed actors from the Royal Dramatic Theatre are forced to take jobs in grocery stores, and film consultants are handpicked from far-right biker gangs. It’s bleak, yet often absurd and humorous. Read the full article here!

Thin Blue Line S. 3
The first episodes of the final season of Thin Blue Line are now available on SVT Play. Linus James Nilsson stars as the new narcotics officer Hampus, alongside Yasmine Seifi in the role of Najma, under the direction of the acclaimed Jimmy Olsson, who directed the first two episodes.
Flukten fra Bolivia
After eight years of development and research for the Creator Emilie Beck – the drama series “Escaping Bolivia” is finally in production and is shooting in both Oslo and in Cape Town, this autumn. Emilie is both the Creator and episode director.
The series is inspired by the cocaine smuggling case from 2008, where three Norwegian girls were arrested at the airport in Bolivia. The series depicts what it’s like growing up behind bars, and will focus on friendship, betrayal, love and how far one is willing to go for oneself and for the people that you love.
Kyrre Haugen Sydness plays one of the characters in the series.
“Escaping Bolivia” will premiere on TV2 Norway in the fall of 2025.
FÄRJAN
Mats Strandberg’s novel Färjan is being adapted into a TV series on SVT, set to premiere in the fall of 2025. A ferry in the Baltic Sea becomes cut off from the outside world, and something evil lurks on board. The passengers, a diverse group of characters, must work together to survive. In the lead role, we see Björn Bengtsson as Dan, a washed-up pop star now working as a karaoke host on the Baltic Charisma. Northern Fable and Imaginarium Productions are producing Färjan for SVT in collaboration with CBS. We can’t wait!
Quislings siste dager
Vidkun Quisling is one of the most talked about and debated people in the Norwegian history. This drama depicts his final days, and is trying to find Quisling’s own reasons behind his actions with a nuanced view.

“Armand” is receiving amazing reviews, both nationally and internationally.

Mimmi Tamba has received great reviews for making a strong and stunning performance as the lead character, the singer Rachel Marron. The Bodyguard himself is being portrayed by Odd-Magnus Williamson, and Dennis Storhøi is the manager.
This musical is based on the film The Bodyguard from 1992.
Oss pojkar emellan – Cirkus
The play is set in a spacious apartment on Manhattan. A birthday party unfolds into an evening of hidden agendas, lies, neuroses, but above all, the fear of being true to oneself – the night quickly goes from slightly awkward to total disaster.

Jesus Christ Superstar
The rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar has now opened at Folketeateret, where you can watch Aksel Hennie as Jesus and Jeppe Beck Laursen as Judas.
The musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice tells the story of Jesus’ final days – from Judas’ betrayal to the crucifixion. The story is being portrayed through the eyes of Judas, and it is investigating the tension between the divinity and humanity.

Jan Gunnar Røise won the Amanda award for the Best Actor in a leading role 2024!
His role was one of the two chimnysweepers in the movie “Sex”. We congratulate him for the award and for his excellent perfomance in this film!

Elskling/Loveable
The Norwegian feature film “Loveable” won an impressive 5 awards at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The plot tells the story of Maria who must come to terms when her husband announces that he wants a divorce. It is the story of a woman’s opportunity for self-recognition, growth, and acceptance of the dysfunctional patterns within herself.
We congratulate Oddgeir Thune (male lead) and Kyrre Haugen Sydness who portrays both the husband and the ex-husband of Maria.
The film has its Norwegian premiere during the International Film Festival in Haugesund in August, and you can watch it on cinemas from the 11th of October.

Heddaprisen 2024
Kjersti Elvik won the prize for Best Stage Performance in a musical! Well done!
She portrayed the role as “Songaren” in Shockheaded Peter at Den National Scene, in Bergen. The show also won the prize for the Best Musical.

TRAP
Today is the premiere of the short film TRAP, written by our screenwriter Maja Palm. TRAP follows the seventeen-year-old Sami and his friends who are looking for thrills. They arrange meetings with older men, where games quickly turn into violent seriousness. For Sami, the encounters awaken a secret desire that grows ever stronger. When cracks in the gang begin to appear, he must once and for all decide who he wants to be. A film directed by Adam Cronstedt, part of a series of graduation films from Stockholm University of the Arts, featuring Joakim Lang in the role of Johannes.
Stefan Larsson – Sommar i P1

Stefan is an acclaimed and sought-after director who has worked with, among others, Ingmar Bergman, Jon Fosse, and Lars Norén. Stefan Larsson has been the artistic director at Dramaten’s stage Elverket and a theatre manager for major stages in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. He has also appeared in several TV series and films. He is currently involved in several theatre productions in Stockholm and is developing a future film.

Theo Boguslaw selected to Serial Eyes’ Diverse Storytelling Workshop
Scriptwriter Theo Boguslaw selected to the second round of Serial Eyes‘ workshop Diverse Storytelling in Digital Short Form Series in April 2024. Theo will be one of six very talented authors in the of the workshop. The aim of the program is to provide a platform for and promote underrepresented groups in the media industry.
From April 3, 2024 – June 3, 2024, the participants will develop their series in a detailed program under the guidance of Corinne Le Hong in close collaboration with Serial Eyes.

We have seen her in roles of diverse kinds and have always noticed that she possesses something truly exceptional, the hallmark of a truly great actress, a combination of technical skill and a touching charisma. She is a true ‘Triple Treat’ artist, a term denoting an artist who excels in singing, dancing, and theater. Ever since she won the ‘Search for Julia’ competition almost fifteen years ago, she has danced, sung, and acted her way onto our stages. Here at the City Theatre, we have seen her in classic musicals like Hair, Chicago, and Cabaret, and a few years ago at the Gothenburg Opera House in Love Spares No One. Just like Annalisa, she joyfully transitions between stage and screen, where we have seen her deliver several outstanding performances in various TV series. Armand
Exciting news for Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel’s film “Armand” as it is going to have its worldwide debut at the Cannes Filmfestival this year, and Øystein Røger plays one of the larger roles.
The film is about a 6-year-old boy who is being accused of crossing boundaries against his best friend at primary school, and the parents are being called in for a meeting. You never actually meet the kids, and as it turns out that not even those in charge at school can fully explain what has actually happened it then evolves into focusing on the parents. You will witness a dramatic fight between two mothers, where they desperately uses everything they can think of – to be believed.
In Norway this film premieres at cinemas in September.

Hallgrim Haug has directed this witty crime series, and Sigrid Husjord plays the part as the main characters psychologist.
Lisa is a hardworking drug investigator with a strong sense of justice, a heart for those close to her and an anger management problem. Her life is turned upside-down as her husband Jostein disappears while investigating a high profile drug case. Against her will she participates in a memorial for Jostein. There, she finds out that colleagues are about to interrogate the gang leader Marko. Soon things turn terribly bad for Lisa.

The family receives cryptic messages and a ransom demand from the kidnapper. As the secrets within the family is revealed, Wisting suspects a personal motive behind the abduction.

The road to stardom is not easy, and when Curtis replaces Effie as the group’s lead singer and instead shines the spotlight on Deena, the friendship of the girls is tested.

Anna Karenina
Lev Tolstoj’s masterpiece Anna Karenina is currently on stage at Centralteatret in Oslo, and Eldar Skar is playing the role of Anna’s husband.
This is one of the most epic love stories being written, set in tsarist Russia in the 19th Century. A play about betrayal, faith, family, marriage, imperial Russian society, desire – humans complexities.
LAZARUS
Alongside his final album, David Bowie created his first and only musical – Lazarus. The musical was Bowie’s dream and personal initiative where he had complete artistic control. Now, for the first time in Sweden, the Bowie musical is being staged, featuring talented performers Björn Bengtsson and Christopher Wollter, among others. Konvoi

Sex
As part of the trilogy “Sex Drømmer Kjærlighet”, “Sex” is the first film out, and premiering in Norwegian cinemas on the 1st March. Starring Jan Gunnar Røise & Nasrin Khuswari.
This project has recently been selected to be a part of Berlin Panorama, at the Berlinale 2024.
“Sex” is a drama about two chimnysweepers who surprises each other during a lunch break. One of them tells the other that he just had sex with a man, but does not agree that it means he has cheated on his wife. The other is concerned after a compelling dream where David Bowie looks at him as a woman. Can their lives continue as before?
Kretsen – Hilma af Klint
During a session, the artist Hilma af Klint is given the assignment to paint for the future. Within the circle of her closest ones, creativity and passion thrive, but conflicts also emerge. An incredible performance by Sofia Papadimitriou Ledarp in the role of Hilma. Get your tickets here!

We are eagerly looking forward to seeing Livia Millhagen and Erik Ehn in Ibsen’s moving drama “Lille Eyolf”, directed and adapted by Stefan Larsson. “A Dream Play” – nominated for Nöjesguiden’s Gothenburg Prize 2023
“A Dream Play” Strindberg’s classic has been adapted many times but never like this. In “A Dream Play” at Folkteatern, we witnessed dancers and actors shining in their respective forms of expressive control. “It is insanely beautiful, twisted, and resembles nothing I have seen before.” The script, direction, choreography, and set design in rare symbiosis. – big congrats to Emilia Roosman.

Ture Sventon and the Magical Lamp
Starting on Christmas Eve, SVT airs the third season of Ture Sventon in “Ture Sventon and the Magical Lamp.”
The storyline centers around a magical lamp, enabling the owner to make wishes for both altruistic purposes and personal gain. It rekindles a global conflict between the world’s premier detective, Ture Sventon, and the most intelligent antagonist, Ville Vessla. Starring Yasmine Seifi.

Mysterious things starts to happen as it turnes out they are not alone – There are murderous elves living in the barn. The family denies the rules of the elves, which leads to gruesome consequences.
Snøfall 2
The Christmas calendar on NRK this year is Snøfall Season 2, with Iselin Shumba & Kjersti Elvik.
Where season 1 is focusing on 9 year old Selma, Season 2 is centered around 10 year old Noah who has an important Christmas wish. His mother is ill with cancer. In despair Noah decides to find Santa Clause himself, in hoping that Santa Clause can make his mother well again.

Sugarbabe
Sole and Olivia are 15 years old and have just started an account on a sugar dating site with the idea of scamming guys for money. They need the money to be able to travel to the USA and make a breakthrough as dancers, their biggest dream in life. However, they quickly run into trouble when they meet a man on the site who starts threatening them and demanding his money back. Sugarbabe is a drama series in the world of dance about friendship, vulnerability, and dreaming big. First three episodes out now at SVT with Sara Chaanhing Kennedy.
Thin Blue Line S. 3
The shooting of the highly acclaimed series Thin Blue Line Season 3 has finally begun, with a planned premiere in the fall of 2024. Jimmy Olsson is the Conceptual Director, and Linus James Nillson makes an entrance as the new Narcotics Officer Hampus. Read more about the series here!

Mankind faces extinction as a potent brain virus, rendering people stupid to the point at which they die from their own stupidity, spreads across the world. In the new humour series from NRK, six of the most useless among us, set out to save humanity.
Among the prominent cast are our talents Charlotte Frogner, Henrik Mestad and Elli Müller Osborne.

Lahti 2001
This is a 6-part drama series with a compelling story that explores the doping scandal that shook the world of cross-country skiing during the 2001 World Championships in Lahti, Finland. Veslemøy Mørkrid plays the norwegian reporter Therese Jensen.

Miss Saigon
A gripping musical with a strong story and beautiful music. The story takes us to Saigon during the Vietnam War in the 1970s. Catharina Vu plays the vietnamese girl Kim, who meets and falls in love with the american soldier Chris. The cruelty of the war creates heartbreak and struggle for the two protagonists.
The show has had a very successful run at Folketeateret, and recently extra dates has been announced.

The year is 1759 in the countryside of eastern England. Sally Poppy has been convicted of the murder of a young girl, and claims that she cannot be hanged because she is pregnant. To determine if she is telling the truth or not, the court has appointed a jury of 12 housewives to decide. The women are now locked together with the accused in a room, and no one is allowed to leave until they have reached a unanimous decision.
Västra Gymnasiet

The teenage drama “Västra gymnasiet” is based on the Norwegian series “VGS” which was written and directed by Emilie Beck. Join in as the old favorites Alba, Elias, Linus, and M, along with new characters, try to find their place during their first year in high school.

Emil Gurvin is the co-creator and the cinematographer on this comedy drama, a HBO Max series that premiered this autumn.
“Three childhood friends from a small town in Norway share the feeling of having failed in life. One day, their lives take an unexpected turn when the guys discover an illegal poker club and realize that there is quick money to be made.”
Frost
Mimmi Tamba & Ina Svenningdal are portraying the two leads when The Norwegian Theatre premieres Disney’s musical “Frost” in a non-replica version of the Broadway and West End success. The musical is based on Disney’s film “Frozen” and the
original fairy tale “The Snow Queen” from 1844 by H.C. Andersen.
The adventure draws inspiration from geographical, mythological and cultural traditions in the Nordic cultural community.

Fungi
Premiers November 3rd starring Annica Liljeblad.
In a post-apocalyptic adventure in the Swedish archipelago, a science team struggles to find a way to protect the few surviving humans from a lethal mushroom organism. Forced on a journey through the wilderness to find a new bunker in which to continue their research, they come into conflict with an armed gang that uses a drug to delay the effects of the organism. The scientists want to find a more permanent solution, and have to fight for the very survival of humanity.
Cammo
Martin Sofiedal has just finished directing Season 2 of “Cammo”, for NRK. Influencer Cammo goes bankrupt and has to take on extra work as a support contact for Kamilla with Down’s syndrome. A humor series about facade, friendship and chromosomes.
This comedy drama has made a name for itself far beyond Norwegian borders. Season 1 was honored with a special award in the film and TV industry’s new mecca, South Korea.

The One
- Will be playing at Cirkus until the 26th of November with Janice Kavander.
Several dancers attend the most important audition of their lives, the one for “The One”. A musical by Fredrik Benke Rydman. The One is based on stories from dancers’ real lives. A reality that describes a success-fixated time that places great demands on young people and their self-esteem.

- The Sandell family is a normal family consisting of the priest Adam, the lawyer Ulrika and their 19-year-old daughter Stella. They live a seemingly perfect life in a polished residential suburb outside of Lund. One day, everything changes when Stella ends up in custody, accused of murder. Her devastated parents don’t know what to do. What has happened? They want to help Stella at any cost, but do they really know their daughter? Or each other?

Kronprinsen som försvann
Julkalendern 2022 – Kronprinsen som försvann won best children’s program at the Swedish Emmy Awards “Kristallen”. Our client Tord Danielsson wrote and directed the 24 episode Christmas calendar for Baluba /SVT.
