Hallgrim Haug

is well known for his good energy, love for his cast and crew and determined focus on set. He holds an extensive repertoire, spanning from his co-director debut on the Netflix original series The Playlist, and other Netflix series like A Storm for Christmas, Home for Christmas, and Lilyhammer, to the NRK hit show Exit, as well as features such as The Gold Run and The Trip.

Hallgrim is also an award-winning director and director of photography. His passion for the art of photography was discovered already as a young teenager. Born and raised at the feet of raw, imposing Norwegian mountains Hal quickly developed an understanding for the power of light and how to capture it to convey unique emotions and sensations in his motifs.

Hallgrim’s slate also includes international documentaries like, Liv Ullmanns bio-documentary, The Road Less Travelled, and Vilje av stål/ Made of Steel for which he won best director at the London International Film Festival. The documentary Twin Sisters, was acknowledged the most viewed Norwegian-produced film in history, worldwide. Twin Sisters went on to win the audience award at IDFA, the Dragon Award, and the Golden Nymph, as well as a Norwegian Emmy Gullruten for best documentary.
