Stefan Larsson

Stefan is both a director and a scriptwriter. He has directed close to 50 theater plays, where the majority have been at the Royal Dramatic Theatre / Dramaten in Stockholm. His plays are known for their low-key and realistic acting in cool visual concepts. In his last acclaimed and award-winning play A Streetcar Named Desire /Linje Lusta at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stefan uses a live camera in a new innovative way, so that the performance is shown on a film screen. He wrote and developed the refugee drama Zephyr with the production company Indio.

Now he is developing a feature film script drama based on a true story with Scandinavian Content Group.

Stefan’s adaption of A Streetcar Named Desire has also been filmed and is now in post production.

Stefan has adapted the critically acclaimed musical Lazarus to raving reviews in Bergen, Norway. Premiered in Stockholm February 2024 at Göta Lejon, Stockholm with great reviews and audience reception. Ibsen’s play Lille Eyolf  premiered at Dramaten in January 2024, adaption and directing by Stefan.

In september Stefan’s play Säg mitt namn/Say my name written by Louise Boije af Gennäs will premiere at Intiman featuring four of Sweden’s brightest shining stars like our very own Livia Millhagen and Gizem Kling Erdogan, Ingela Olsson and Marie Göranzon.

Stefan has an acting background and has appeared in many TV series and films.
The plays Dödsdansen (2015) with Persbrandt/Endre and Scenes from a Marriage with Jonas Karlsson/Livia Millhagen (2020) were broadcast and shown on SVT, both directed by Stefan.
